Nurse Sharks Dwell On The Sea Ground And Prowl During The Night Hours

Being one of the beautiful marine creature the Nurse sharks are known for their dwelling on to the deep bottom of sea. The length of their body has been measured around 15 fit while weight 165 kg. As far theirs being recognized as the Nurse shark is concerned, the name was assigned to it after observing its way of feeding upon prey by sucking the flesh with its mouth, after cutting a part of a large animal(prey).

The Nurse shark is the dweller in tropical and subtropical waters of Western and Eastern Atlantic coast besides Eastern Pacific and Caribbean islands.

Being the deep ocean dweller the Nurse sharks remain dormant throughout the day and get all of sudden too active in the night hours and start hunting for foods independently. Extraordinary thing about them is that while remaining inactive during the day time they are found in a group which gets scattered during the night hours.

Becoming too fast and active, they prowl in the sea water during the mid night hours to explore their foods as a solitary creature.

The Nurse sharks often are not needed to make a hard attempt in searching their prey during the night hours, for being capable of lying on the bottom of the sea concealing their presence under the dense sea grasses and oceanic ground very easily they capture the small marine creatures to fulfill their need.

Being viviparous the female Nurse shark produces around 25/30 pups at a time in a litter. Nurse shark instead of laying the eggs out of its body hatches it inside it and the pups come out of her after a duration of around six months.

Nurse sharks are useful only by their skin and liver to be used for leather products and rare medicines. It is not human friendly like different species of its shark family.
